Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

This project involved the design, permitting and preparation of construction documents for the clearing and grading of a 5.5-acre refrigerated container yard with 775 reefer plugs. The project included surveying, storm drain inspection, SUE services, geotechnical investigation, erosion control, demolition, maintenance of traffic, grading, heavy duty asphalt pavement design, storm drain design, potable water and fire line with hydrants, reefer rack design, electrical design for reefers, and lighting design. Bid and procurement support services were also provided.

This project included designing under drains over 75% of the site to collect water from settlement and consolidation. Design and permitting for stormwater treatment ditches, fire mains and hydrants, and high mast lighting were provided.

In addition, a design package consisting of client program requirements, construction drawings, construction specifications, and cost estimates was developed and submitted to the client. The work was performed under a General Engineering Services Agreement with Port Tamp Bay.
