COMPANY HISTORY

Schneider Engineering & Consulting was established to provide personalized professional services to clients, with the goal of designing projects and structures that are highly functional, easily constructed, and cost effective. The efficiency of our corporate structure allows our principal engineers to remain involved in every design decision and phase, while adding not only value to our clients’ projects, but also providing the assurance that each project achieves a successful outcome. In 2011, SEC became a wholly owned subsidiary of Houston, Texas-based Orion Marine Group.

COMPANY EXPERIENCE

SEC principals and senior staff collectively share more than 60 years of design expertise and experience, including “Engineer of Record” for major cruise terminal projects throughout the Caribbean and one of the largest private container terminals in the Southeast U.S. Recently completed projects include Carnival Cruise Lines’ Amber Cove Pier in the Dominican Republic, the Cozumel Cruise Pier in Cozumel, Mexico, and Targa Resources’ Ship Dock 4 in Houston, Texas.

SEC Vice President Gary Schneider served as Engineer of Record for the Grand Turk Cruise Pier, a Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers 2007 Grand Award winner. Mr. Schneider has also served as project manager and head engineer for the award-winning Electromagnetic Roll (EMR) Facility for the U.S. Navy at Ingleside, Texas. The EMR is a maintenance facility used to check and calibrate highly sophisticated degaussing equipment on-board mine warfare ships. The design effort included site location, project planning, dredge fill permitting, facility design, and construction services for the duration of the build.
